How UPI payments work
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) moves money between Indian bank accounts in real time. The customer scans a QR code or opens a UPI app, approves the payment with their UPI PIN, and the merchant's gateway confirms receipt.
For the customer
- Scan the QR or tap a UPI app button
- Check the amount
- Enter the UPI PIN
- See the confirmation
For the merchant
The gateway checks the payment, matches the exact amount to the order and sends a signed callback. Never rely on a customer's screenshot as proof of payment.
