What is a UTR number?
A UTR (Unique Transaction Reference) is the reference number banks give every UPI or bank transfer. For UPI it is usually 12 digits. You can find it in the transaction details of your UPI app or bank statement.
Where to find it
- PhonePe: History → transaction → UTR
- Google Pay: transaction → UPI transaction ID
- Paytm: Balance & History → transaction
- Bank app or statement: reference number
Note
A UTR helps match a payment, but it is not proof on its own — the payment still has to be confirmed.
